Het voorhangsel tussen het ‘heilige’ en het ‘Heilige der Heilige’ scheurde van boven naar beneden…
”When Jesus was crucified the big, thick, heavy curtain, the veil, between the ‘Holy of Holies’ and the ‘sanctuary’ in the old temple was torn apart. Two cherubs were pictured on it representing the veil of flesh, dualistic thought which is barring the way to the ‘Holy of Holies’.”
Toen Jesus werd gekruisigd scheurde het grote, dikke, zware gordijn, het voorhangsel, tussen het ‘Heilige der heilige’ en het ‘heilige’ in de oude tempel. Twee cherubijnen waren er op afgebeeld voorstellend het voorhangsel van vleselijke, dualistische gedachte welke de weg verspert naar het ‘Heilige der heilige’.
